EC WEEE recycling

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Recycling within the EU

WEEE Regulations

Under the current WEEE Regulations required by the Directive 2012/19/EU and applicable national law, our customers within the EU are entitled to send qualifying electrical and electronic equipment for recycling at one of our approved centers.

Qualifying electrical and electronic equipment is defined as either:

  1. SAM equipment purchased after 13 August 2005 which has become waste; and / or
  2. Old equipment purchased prior to 13 August 2005 and that has been replaced by a purchase of new SAM equipment after 13 August 2005 (on a one-for-one, like-for-like basis)

SAM has established a recycling contract for qualifying waste with the European Advanced Recycling Network (EARN) and will cover the costs of recycling the waste electrical and electronic equipment.
